6th Annual Digital Africa Summit “Next Generation Convergence Driving Positive Change” (Apr 22-24 2008)Start DateApril 22 2008
End DateApril 24 2008
LocationJohannesburg, South Africa Event SummaryThe sixth Annual Digital Africa Summit intends to take an in depth look at technology convergence from an African perspective. It is designed to provide a forum for attendees to share ideas, learn from each other’s experiences, identify potential road maps for effective information and communication technology (ICT) development and build a valuable network of contacts. According to the organisers, the annual Summit has developed into the place for executive level delegates to discuss their issues with solution providers and consultants in a highly productive and relaxed environment. Participants will be able to meet with their peers from across Africa and beyond to discuss issues that they identify as important.
The Summit recognises that operators on the African continent are currently rolling out new technologies while many Africans struggle to access even the most basic services. The Digital Africa Summit aims to assist African operators by providing information that will aid them in developing a focused, practical strategy moving forward. They aim to achieve this by orchestrating a debate between leading regulatory authorities and operators from Africa and around the globe, solution providers such as Alcatel, Nortel, Ericsson and Motorola, and system integrators such as IBM and Dimension Data.
