Event Summary

This course, offered by Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS), aims to equip programme managers working in Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) programmes with skills to design and implement effective behaviour change communication interventions for HIV/AIDS programmes.

The aims to give offer participants the skills to be able to:

  • appreciate the complexity of human behaviour change and the motivators and inhibitors to change;
  • develop effective behaviour change communication approaches for
    HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support interventions;
  • develop and design appropriate messages and materials for HIV/AIDS prevention care and support interventions.



This course is designed for programme officers and managers working in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and health education in various sectors including ministries of health, HIV/AIDS, non-governmental organisation (NGOs), reproductive health organisations, civil society and for-profit organisations. Programme officers working for multi and bi-lateral organisations that are responsible for providing technical assistance to national organisations or projects, may also benefit from this course.
