SummaryThis article describes the social mobilisation and immunisation activities undertaken by cooperation between Burma's Ministry of Health, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a multitude of volunteers in order to vaccinate Burmese children against polio in 2007, after the first polio cases in 5 years were reported in Burma.
