The Metcalf Institute for Marine and Environmental Reporting invites entries for the third annual US$75,000 Grantham Prize for Excellence in Reporting on the Environment by media in the United States (US) and Canada. The purpose of the prize is to encourage outstanding coverage of the environment, to recognise reporting that has the potential to bring about constructive change, and to broadly disseminate the prize-winning story to increase public awareness and understanding of issues focusing on the environment.
The Prize is awarded annually to nonfiction work done in North America during the previous calendar year in newspapers, magazines, and books and on television, cable, radio, and online.
Entries covering environment and natural resources topics and distributed in the United States or Canada between January 1 and December 31 2007 should be sent to the Metcalf Institute, Grantham Prize Program Administrator. The prize is open to all journalism covering significant environmental and natural resources issues, including print, broadcast, and online entries.
