Global Envision, a web initiative of Mercy Corps, sponsors quarterly Essay Contents with a first place prize of US$750 and the opportunity for publication on the Global Envision website. The essay task is to use your knowledge and personal experience to write a thoughtful response to the following quotation:
"Arguing against globalization is like arguing against the laws of gravity." - Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan
Entries of 1,000 words or less are invited by email submission to contact@globalenvision.org using "Global Envision Essay Contest" in the subject line.
The deadline for application is December 15 2007.
Global Envision Contest Rules
- Entries must be submitted by email as a single attachment of a Microsoft Word or plain text document, and must include a cover page that includes submission information (as outlined below). Entries submitted as text in the body of an email message will not be considered.
- Entries will be judged on originality, clear expression of ideas, presentation and understanding of the subject matter.
- All entries become of the property of Global Envision and may be published on the Global Envision Website and used in other Mercy Corps publications
Submission information should include:
- Name
- Mailing Address
- Country
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Date of Birth
- School, University or Place of Work
- Location of School, University or Place of Work
- Your Field (i.e. MA in Economics)
