Sponsored by the Georgetown University Program on Science in the Public Interest, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and Smithsonian's Lemelson Center. "Managing a Pandemic" will be the third public discussion in the series "Science & Society: Grand Challenges." Featuring Rajeev Venkayya, Special Assistant to President Bush and Senior Director for Biodefense, and Julie Fischer, director of the Global Health Security Program at the Henry L. Stimson Center, this event will a candid a conversation led award-winning NPR reporter Joe Palca.
