Communicating for Social Impact is a twofold endeavor. First, this theme mandates greater attention to the development and publicizing of communication research that assists different nations, NGOs, community organizations, and others in identifying and combating social problems. Second, the 2008 theme addresses challenges to the meaningfulness of communication work and its translation into venues where the people who most need this research can access it.
