The main training programmes offered by this department are the Master of Public Health (MPH) Health Promotion and Education, Master of Public Health (MPH) Population and Reproductive Health, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) with a specialisation in health education.

The MPH programme is a two-year course that combines academic training with field work and research. It prepares students to become health education specialists that can be involved in culturally relevant health education practice and research in Africa.
