University of Namibia

Department

Department of Information and Communication Studies

Description

Department of Information and Communication Studies of the University of Namibia is dedicated to the training of information workers who can operate all aspects of information handling, from librarians and records managers, journalists and mass communicators, information managers, to those interested to work in publishing and book-selling firms. This is a curriculum mix which permits cross-fertilisation of concepts resulting in pro-active and broad minded graduates. The department had its first Namibian students in 1996, but now students from the whole sub-region – including: Angola, Botswana, Congo Democratic Republic (DRC), Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
