Description

The Université de Bourgogne developed with the foundation of its Law Faculty in Dijon in the Year 1722. At the beginning of the 19th Century it extended to other disciplines in arts, sciences, medicine and pharmacy. Today it is one of the largest universities in France with nearly 25,000 students.

Every year about 500 Dijon students go abroad. The Université de Bourgogne was one of the first French Universites to offer French language teaching to foreign students. It has participated in European programmes since the beginning of the Erasmus/Socrates.

Programmes

  1. Masters, Strategies of International Communication (DESS Strategies de Communication Internationale) - The courses follow two main strands:
    1. Communication Strategies in the firm and in the media.
    2. European Media: the economic, legal and cultural dimensions.

The courses range from the theory of communication and information to psychological theories and cultural studies to communication strategies and professionalisation. Students are taught to understand communication processes within complex systems. The approach is international and intercultural. Students acquire a strategic vision of communication within organisations (how to build a communication plan) and are taught how to analyse communication messages in the organisation or in the media (based on a semiotic approach).
