Palestine and Israel Share Bird Flu Knowledge

Summary

According to this article, in November 2006, veterinarians from the Palestinian Authority visited laboratories at the Veterinary Institute of Israel to share knowledge and experience in battling avian influenza. Members of the Palestinian delegation participated in seminars that focused on the techniques of diagnosing avian flu on chicken farms.

The visit was prompted by an outbreak of bird flu in Egypt and the subsequent fear that the disease could spread to Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
