Good ICT Practices

Summary

This website of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) offers "recommendations and inspiration on how to mainstream information and communication technology (ICT) in DANIDA development activities - especially into the planning sector activities in Danish sector programme support." Its intended audience is DANIDA workers in the ministry and in local embassies, as well as partners, consultants and advisors in partner countries.

The site is designed for ease of use through colour coding to encourage use of good ICT practices.
  • Yellow boxes indicate the instances where checklists are tools that can ensure systematic implementation and efficiency. A checklist for sector programming is offered on the site.
  • Red boxes indicate lessons learned by sector - e.g. health, agriculture - and ICT applications to reach the Millennium Development Goals.
  • Blue boxes indicate case studies/stories by country, by sector, or by ICT tool applications. The countries included are: Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Bolivia, amd Brazil.
In addition, the website includes key documents, technologies and organisations on ICT for development (ICT4D).
