Avian and Pandemic Influenza Communication Resources


Summary

This online resource centre features avian and pandemic influenza communication materials developed around the globe to prevent, contain, and respond to outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus. Developed under the aegis of the United Nations (UN) System Influenza Coordinator (UNSIC) as a joint initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO), this initiative is designed to provide users with strategic communication products, information, and tools. Funding is provided by the Government of Japan.

Communication resources available as part of the resource centre include:
  • Creative products including posters, stickers, documentaries, audio and video public service announcements, and press clippings;
  • Source materials including illustrations, logos, and photos;
  • Planning/training documents including case examples, glossaries, research, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and communication strategies and plans;
  • Links to relevant organisational and news websites; and
  • Contacts which includes links to UNICEF national and regional communication contacts.

Resources are also accessible by country, language, and audience.
