The film "Listen to Mr. Gopal Ji - A Discussion on HIV/AIDS" was part of the Capacity Building of Trade Unions on HIV/AIDS, Gender and Sexuality project being implemented in 6 states of India by Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) in collaboration with the American Center for International Labor Solidarity (Solidarity Center). It is a training film that focuses on the basics of HIV/AIDS, transmission, prevention, testing, myths and misconceptions, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), love, care and support for a person infected with HIV/AIDS and the need for workplace policies and intervention on HIV/AIDS. It also raises issues of gender and sexuality in connection with HIV/AIDS. The film includes some practices and beliefs around HIV/AIDS in India and the dialogues are largely based on interactions and conversations with workers and trade union affiliates during the fact finding and survey done prior to the film. The film is intended to be used as a training tool to help trainers and facilitators to conduct sessions and raise awareness on HIV/AIDS, gender, sexuality and related issues.

A handbook was developed as a guide to the film. It provides detailed information on HIV/AIDS and related issues and emphasises the issues highlighted in the film, providing greater clarity and explanation for all the concepts in order to enable facilitators in conducting sessions.
