This publication, produced by the Foundation for Education, Science and Technology (FEST), is aimed at educating learners on issues relating to sustainable development. It includes information relating to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in 2002, but is relevant for use before, during and after the WSSD.

The booklet calls upon the youth of South Africa to make a difference through sustainable development as the future of the planet lies in the hands of the youth. The aim of the booklet is to motivate young people to think globally and act locally and the publishers hope that the document will make a meaningful contribution to environmental education in South Africa.
