  • 747 million people around the world aged 15 and over used the internet during January 2007.
  • This is a 10% increase over January 2006.
  • The largest growth during 2006 was found in India (33%), the Russian Federation (21%) and China (20%).
  • Growth in the United States was 2%.
  • China has the second largest internet population in the world, with 86.8 million users, after the U.S. with 153.4 million.
  • Internet users outside the U.S. now account for 80% of the world's online population.
