Summary

In this book, author Timothy Frasca explores the cultural changes which have taken place throughout Latin America as a result of HIV/AIDS. He brings issues such as sexuality, class, and religious beliefs into the open through interviews with activists, people living with HIV/AIDS, government leaders, and church leaders. Frasca draws on lessons from Latin America and the activist involvement that succeeded in increasing government resources to fight the disease. Narratives are intermixed with comprehensive epidemic statistics from the continent.
