Feeling Yes/Feeling No - a video for children of Southern AfricaSummaryA video which aims to equip children of Southern Africa with vital life skills. This video is aimed at teaching children of primary school age and is comprised of four parts:
Part 1 - Feelings: teaches us about YES and NO feelings andencourages children to say NO if the feeling experienced is a NO feeling. Children are also encouraged to share their feelings with someone they trust. Part 2 - Can I trust a stranger: deals with sexual assault and teaches the child ways to avoid situations by using the three "stranger" questions. Part 3 - Abuse by a trusted person: deals with this very painful situation. The child is encouraged to be assertive and to tell someone he/she trusts of the abuse. Part 4 - HIV/AIDS and feelings: looks at ways of contracting HIV and supporting those who have been effected by the disease in one way or another. This video is acted out by 3 local Namibian actors and is part of a continuing "live" program that aims to cover schools throughout Namibia over the next 2 years.
