Summary

Insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) are considered a tool that can help with the rising incidence of malaria throughout the world. There is now evidence that indicates the beneficial impact of ITNs on malaria disease episodes in children.

Studies have been conducted in The Gambia, Ghana, and Kenya where "a 17-63% reduction in overall child mortality" is reported as a result of ITN use. This report indicates that the many of the effects of ITN-implementation programmes have not yet been well documented.
