Gates Award for Global Health - 2008

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is offering this award of US$1 million to an organisation "that has made a major and lasting contribution to the field of global health." Public, private or charitable institutions in any country may apply.



According to the organisers, this award was established to recognise those who "have developed processes for improving health, especially in resource poor settings, with measurable results. The Award recognizes past achievements and the promise of continuing activity and improvement."



The award will be presented in Washington, DC, United States, at a special Awards Ceremony during the Global Health Council's Annual International Conference.


The deadline for application is October 31 2007.
