Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Mid-Point Poster Competition

Deadline Date

July 2 2007

This competition sponsored by Oxfam is open to pupils of any age from the United Kingdom (UK). Two winners will be chosen - one from a primary school and another from a secondary school. Each school that enters will receive a free set of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) posters to display, and each winner will get:

  • Their poster displayed on Oxfam’s Cool Planet website;
  • A copy of 'South and North, East and West: The Oxfam Book of Children's Stories' (for the Primary winner) or 'The State of the World Atlas, 2007' (for the Secondary winner);
  • A copy of 'Change the World in Eight Steps' - Oxfam's MDGs teaching pack - for their school; and
  • The chance to come to Oxfam GB's head office in Oxford to meet the people working towards directing world attention to the MDGs. They will also get to see their poster displayed in the Oxfam offices.

Teachers can send as many posters as their class produces. Please ask pupils to write their name, age, and the name of the school on the back of their poster. Unfortunately Oxfam is unable to return posters to senders.

Entries should be sent to the following address, with the name and address of the school, the ages of the students, and the adult contact at the school:
