Second Annual PPF-Aslam Ali Press Freedom AwardCountryPakistan RegionGlobal, South Asia Deadline DateApril 15 2007 The Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) invites nominations for the Second Annual PPF-Aslam Ali Press Freedom Award. The award, instituted by PPF with support of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), carries a cash award of 100,000 rupees (US$1,650). The jury for the PPF-Aslam Ali Press Freedom Award is comprised of six journalists, academics and human rights experts. Three members of the jury will be nominated by PPF and three by UNESCO-Islamabad. The award is named in honour of the late Mr. Aslam Ali, founding trustee of PPF, recognised by the International Press Institute (IPI) at the IPI Millennium World Assembly in 2000.The first PPF-Aslam Ali Press Freedom Award was awarded to the late Hyatullah Khan.
