The European Commission invites journalists working in television, radio, print, and online journalism to submit entries for the Lorenzo Natali Prize. The prize is awarded in partnership with Reporters Without Borders and the World Association of Newspapers to journalists who have demonstrated a commitment to human rights, democracy, and development. The organisers recognise these works as vital elements of economic and social development in developing countries.

Journalists are eligible in each of the following five regions:

  • Africa
  • Arab World and the Middle East
  • Asia and the Pacific
  • Europe
  • Latin America and the Caribbean

The winners will receive their prizes at a special award ceremony. Prizes include a financial award according to the following distribution in each region:

1st Prize: €5,000

2nd Prize: €2,500

3rd Prize: €1,500


Additionally, special prizes of €5,000 for TV and radio journalism will be awarded.
