The International Children's Painting Competition on the Environment is organised annually by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Japan-based Foundation for Global Peace and Environment (FGPE), Bayer AG, and Nikon Corporation. This year the competition is focused on climate change and is for children who will be between the age of 6 and 14 years on World Environment Day, June 5 2007. Winners will receive US$2,000 and a trip to the main 2007 World Environment Day celebrations in Tromso, Norway.

Entry Rules:

1. Paintings must be done on either on A4 or A3 paper.

2. Write out the following in English capital letters on the back of each painting.

1. Full name
2. Birth date including year
3. Home address/phone number and email address
4. Name of school and grade
5. School address including country code name/phone number & fax number

3. The style of painting is free: crayons, coloured pencils, water colours, etc.

4. Paintings that have already been shown elsewhere or accepted for other competitions will not be accepted.

5. Paintings that show a particular person, an organisation or a brand name will not be accepted.

6. Do not include any words in the paintings.

7. Paintings can be submitted via email (scanned or regular mail) to the UNEP office in your region. For more information on the office in your region, please find the addresses below.

Entries must be received by December 31 2006.
