The Society for New Communications Research Awards will recognise innovative organisations and professionals who are pioneering the use of new media (for example: blogs, wikis, podcasts, collaborative tools and other forms of participatory communications) in the areas of marketing, public relations (PR) and advertising, politics, entertainment, academia, community and cultural development.



Awards will be granted to individuals, businesses and educational institutions in the following categories:

  • Professional - honours leading new communications thinkers, bloggers, journalists, citizen journalists and professional communicators.
  • Academic - recognises leading work/research/studies from students and academic institutions.
  • Business - honours organisations that are successfully adopting new communications models and leveraging them in innovative ways for business purposes.

The Society for New Communications Research Awards will be granted at the Inaugural SNCR Research Symposium & Awards Gala, which will take place November 1-2 2006 in Boston, Massachussetts in the United States - click here for more information.
