TalkTalk Innovation in the Community Awards are intended to enable charity and community groups throughout the UK to harness the power of the internet. 30 winners will each receive cash grants of UK£2,000 to fund technology-related projects, as well as technology equipment to help them enhance their use of the internet. Winners will be notified by October 25 2008. The awards ceremony at the House of Lords and one-on-one workshops with Martha Lane Fox, will take place in November 2008.

The following are the award categories:

  1. Work and training;
  2. Play and sport;
  3. Creativity and culture;
  4. Body and soul; and
  5. Learning and knowledge.

The deadline for application is September 30 2008.
