Peace through Health Travelling StudentshipsRegionGlobal, North America Deadline DateJuly 1 2007 Population Health Research Institute is offering a paid studentship for up to two students to undertake a research project in peace through health. One of these studentships will be available to Canadian students, and the other to students from other countries (preferably from a war zone), to pursue a project in peace through health. The project must be undertaken within 6 months of the award and is expected to last 4 to 6 weeks. A report is to be completed within 6 months of completion of the project. The final form of the student's research should both contribute to the development of the career of the student and in advancing the peace through health discipline. Possibilities include research work in a war-affected country; design of a research project; a systematic review article; or a critical analysis of a relevant area. Possible topics include but are not limited to: peace-through-health; health impact of war and armed conflict; small arms/light weapons; health impact of militarism; women and children's health (impact of media violence, war toys). The proposal should outline the research topic, methodology, topic's relevance to peace through health and outline what form the final product will take.
