APFED Innovation Showcase for Sustainable DevelopmentCountryThailand RegionGlobal, South Asia, South Pacific, South East and East Asia Deadline DateSeptember 30 2006 The Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development (APFED) Secretariat and the APFED Showcase Facility Secretariat are currently accepting proposals for showcase projects to be conducted under the Innovation Showcase for Sustainable Development. APFED will support applications in which innovative practices for sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region are skilfully demonstrated as potential showcase projects. Grants of up to US$30,000 will be provided by an institute in the Network of Research Institutes (NetRes) to intellectual endeavours in the fields of project design improvement, smooth implementation of innovative ideas, sound project evaluation or dissemination of lessons learned. Examples of intellectual endeavours include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies of innovative ideas, small scale demonstrations of innovative ideas, and expert consultations. The knowledge and lessons gained from the showcase projects are to be shared through the publicly-accessible APFED-database.
