Deadline DateJuly 31 2006 Swiss Re, a global reinsurance company, is offering awards totalling US$150,000 for innovative watershed management projects. The award money will be distributed among one or more winning projects for use in project implementation. Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), public, private, and scientific organisations may apply. The organisers are looking for projects which: ...genuinely seek to contribute to raising awareness of the ecological, social and economic significance of water sources and watersheds in developing and emerging countries. Preference will be given to those projects which demonstrate innovative preventative measures for protecting water resources, ie projects that have a pioneering character in the local context (cultural, institutional or technological) and involve local community and/or regional institutions.
