Press Now Fund for Moroccan ReportersRegionGlobal, Africa Deadline DateMarch 13 2006 Offered by Press Now, a Netherlands-based media development non-governmental organisation, Moroccan journalists can apply for funding to help them complete special reporting projects that are relevant to and contribute to debate on issues in Moroccan society. The maximum scholarship amount is EU€5,000 (about USD $6,070) per journalist, covering a period no longer than three months. The reporting scholarships will cover the type of costs that normally prohibit long-term, in-depth reporting projects, including research travel and documentation. According to the organisers, Moroccan media operate under pressure of economic and political constraints and this fund constitutes a first step for Press Now in the development of a media support programme in Morocco. Application InformationApplicants must also provide a letter of support from their editor-in-chief, that guarantees publication of the completed project. Applications should be submitted in French by March 13 2006. ContactSourceIJ Net website, January 24 2006. Placed on the Communication Initiative site January 24 2006 Last Updated January 24 2006 |
