Excellence in Reporting on HIV/AIDSCountryIndia RegionGlobal, South Asia Deadline DateDecember 31 2006 The Health Communication Partnership (HCP) is collaborating with The Indian Express Group to honour Indian journalists who demonstrate excellence in HIV/AIDS reporting. Offered as part of the Ramnath Goenka Foundation annual awards, the two awards, one each from the English and Marathi press, will be given to an author of an article or series in a newspaper or magazine that makes an exceptional contribution to public awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS issues. The report/series of reports must be a substantive work that covers a story comprehensively and raises public consciousness and awareness about HIV/AIDS issues. Articles must have been written between April 1 2005 and April 30 2006. Award winners will attend the three-week Leadership in Strategic Health Communication Workshop at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health/ Centre for Communication Programs in Baltimore, USA in June 2007. Click here for more information about the awards. Application InformationNominees for the awards will be proposed and selected by a national panel of advisors. The panel will also consider entries sent from media houses, newsrooms or individual reporters. Entry forms along with two reprints or originals of each article/ programme showing the publication date must be submitted with every entry. A sponsoring letter of nomination must be signed by someone other than the nominee, employed by the same organisation, and included with the entry.
