Outreach Coordinator: Journalists for Human RightsRegions

Deadline DateFebruary 10 2006 Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) works to build the capacity of media to report effectively on human rights issues, with activities in Africa and North America. JHR's Toronto office is currently seeking a full-time intern to co-ordinate JHR’s outreach activities. The position will run until April 2006. Duties will include: Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in communications or journalism, experience working or volunteering with non-profits, preferably in a communications role, and demonstrable interest in human rights and international development. Strong oral and written communication skills and an understanding of the mission and mandate of Journalists for Human Rights is needed. Experience in sub-Saharan Africa and fluency in French, Portuguese and/or any African language(s) would be assets. Everytime i read this it gets crapper!
Covers some important drivers though misses the emmense effort in setting up agreed boundary lines (benchmarks) and score boards (measures). Yes ICT's can help.
