Programme Summary
Communication StrategiesThis project is designed to support the growth of an organisation that uses communication and advocacy approaches to act as a liaison between international agricultural research organisations, such as the Global Forum for Agricultural Research, and African national and sub-regional organisations. FARA, that is, plays a role as a catalyst in bringing together the various stakeholders (research institutions, research systems, non-governmental organisations, donors, farmers, and private firms) and encouraging them to negotiate and cooperate on agricultural research issues of mutual interest. CIDA hopes to foster FARA's work in these areas through capacity building activities. The project will help FARA accelerate sharing and exchange of knowledge through:
The CIDA-funded training will focus on FARA’s work in advocating for the role of agricultural research leading to: Development IssuesAgriculture, Environment, Technology. Key PointsFARA's mission is to enhance and add value to the effectiveness and efficiency of agricultural research systems in Africa. Organisers believe that these systems will contribute to agricultural development, economic growth, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
