Programme SummaryCommunication StrategiesThe exploration phase includes Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Country Coordinators (CCs) - from among senior professional members of staff in the host institutions - will be commissioned to coordinate identified in-country researchers and national teams to carry out the exploration. Two African consultants in education have been identified to support the CCs and the country teams and to work towards an integrated regional report. Development IssuesWomen, Youth, Family Planning, Life skills, Education. Key PointsThe two issues to be investigated are not confined to Africa. It is proposed that the investigation should take into account global perspective particularly relevant initiatives in other developing countries. In this regard: As part of the exploration cognisance will be made of global initiatives, e.g. those under the aegis of UNESCO and UNICEF, in the sphere of basic learning competencies and life skills.
