Uganda Programme for Human and Holistic Development (UPHOLD)CountryUganda RegionAfrica Programme SummaryThe Uganda Programme for Human and Holistic Development (UPHOLD) addresses the well-being of Ugandans through interventions in three integrated social sectors: education, health and HIV/AIDS. Funded by USAID and managed/implemented by John Snow International (JSI) and its partners, the project identifies strategies for fostering quality of life in Uganda by creating partnerships with local organisations that address citizens of all ages in the 20 districts covered by 6 regional offices covering North (Gulu), North-East (Lira), East (Jinja), Central (Wakiso), South-West (FortPortal) and West (Mbarara) Uganda. UPHOLD's aim is to increase capacity to sustain quality social services, and to create an enabling environment for social services.
