Key Points

The children of this region of Colombia grow up within the context of armed conflict, a fact that affects their growth, often disintegrates their families, familiarises them with the violence, and assists in generating fears and loss of hope. Additionally they are often full-time workers - they work as salespeople, construction assistants, bakers, tradesmen, work in domestic positions in other houses - in order to contribute economically to their families.
