Interfund, with assistance from the European Union, launched the NPO helpline to provide callers from NPOs with a range of information and details to assist their organisations to better manage and support their activities.

Communication Strategies

The service provides NGOs, CBOs and NPOs with information that includes:

  • Contact details of and information on important NPO regulatory institutions, including the Department of Social Development NPO Directorate, SARS, the Registrar of Companies etc.
  • Contact details for NPO donors and referrals to information on donors active in South Africa.
  • An overview of the procedures for registration of NPOs, and referral of necessary application details and formats.
  • Provision of easy to use formats and systems for NPOs to use in their operations and planning.
  • Assistance with EU grantmaking and procurement modalities.
