Programme Summary


DD-Gyan Darshan, set up by the national Telecaster Doordarshan and Indira Ghandi National Open University, will include programmes for schools, teacher enrichment education, open and distance learning, vocational courses and courses for disadvantaged sections of India.

Communication Strategies



Will initially broadcast 8 hours of original programming (on career guidance, computer education, preparation for competitive exams, edutainment, arts, culture, tourism and other developmental themes, and an educational current affairs programme) and 8 hours of repeats every day. Will broadcast one interactive hour daily in which teachers and experts will clarify issues for listeners through telephone contact.

The initial expenditure for transmitting will be met by the Ministry of Education Government of India.
