Programme Summary


The objective of this five year project was to effectively promote Ghana's non-traditional export products and producers in the global market by providing faster and cheaper information and communication with support of information and communication technology.

Communication Strategies



Activities included development of an effectively managed website for non-traditional exporters, collecting information for a database on identified non-traditional export groups and products, and the introduction of electronic commerce between Ghanaian non-traditional exporters and foreign importers. Long term goals include the servicing of traditional exporters.

Connectivity through partnerships, competition, education, agriculture, economic development

Key Points



The previous systems for communications included telephone and fax facilities that were time consuming and expensive. Using cost-effective communication is hoped to make these non-traditional exporters more competitive, increase their exports, eliminating excessive travels and also fraud, especially in the small-scale exporters
