This course is offered by the Southern African Media Training Trust (NSJ) and sponsored by Netherlands Institute for Southern Africa (NiZA). The course will cover issues related to poverty and how to best report on them.

Contents:

Social dimensions of poverty; poverty, gender and HIV/AIDS; men and women’s vulnerability to HIV/AIDS; trade and poverty; Millenium Development Goals (MDGs); ethical reporting; interviewing skills; and assessing the World Bank’s measure of poverty.

Eligibility:

Journalists both print and broadcast from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Region.
