Balkan Kids For Kids Festival 2007 (September 21-24 2007)LocationBelgrade, Serbia Event SummaryThe Balkan Kids For Kids Festival is a regional festival of films made by and for children (from Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey) and a meeting place for young filmmakers, media experts and the interested public. This film festival is managed by The Media Education Centre (MEC), Belgrade. A Selection committee will choose the films to be shown in the Official Competition of the festival. Only films that have been cleared of rights (including musical rights) will be accepted. The films have to be entirely made by children from 6 to 12 years old or 13 to 16 years old. The wide range of forms and the different possibilities for an aesthetic realisation of subjects are of great importance for the Festival. Films will be accepted in 3 categories: animation, live action (arts and documentary), and one- minute films. The animation and live action films should not be longer than 10 minutes. If your film is selected for the Official Competition, you will be notified in writing. Deadline for submission: All entries must have a VHS cassette or DVD of good quality, the fully completed entry form and a short description of the film, its creators, and the context in which the film was made. The English dialogue list is also required. Whenever possible, please send a photo from the film and of the filmmaker(s) for the festival catalogue and the press.
