4th International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Cutting (Feb 6 2007)

Event summary

Organised by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Population Reference Bureau (PRB), this day-long symposium will commemorate the 4th anniversary of Zero Tolerance Day for Female Genital Cutting (FGC). The seminar will feature three panels:

  1. Promising Practices: Evaluation Methods and Results
  2. Change Makers
  3. Widening the Circle: The Next Ten Years

Highlights will include:

  • The latest research and evaluation results and their practical applications;
  • Opinion leaders’ and advocates’ reports from the field, including work with religious leaders, ministries, and the news media; and
  • Ideas for strengthening the links between FGC and other sectors.
