Andreasberg, Harz, Germany
International development work has been criticised again in recent years due to a lack of visible success despite major investment. In order to avoid general rejection of development cooperation it is important to recognise and present the opportunities and limitations down-to-earth.
In the conference experienced practitioners will present different approaches to development cooperation and show strengthes and weaknesses. We will discuss, what can be achieved by development cooperation and where others have to act (governments of developing countries, ministries of foreign affairs and trade of the OECD-states).
The speakers will be from the ministry of economic cooperation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), the German foundation for world population, etc.
As highlight of the conference we will have a panel discussion between represenatatives of the public, cleric and civil society development cooperation at InWEnt in Hannover. In order to include the perspective of the affected, we invite members from developing countries to participate at the conference.
