Radio Reporting Using Digital Technology Training Workshop (Jul 25 - Aug 5 2006)

Event Summary

This regional workshop was organised by Panos South Asia (PSA) as part of their goal to help build the capacity of mainstream media in South Asia to be at par with the advancement in radio technology globally.
The workshop, organised under PSA’s Building Communications Opportunities Programme, will be conducted at the Panos South Asia Media Centre that has the state of the art facilities for the purpose.


The workshop is designed for South Asian journalists, not necessarily already working in radio, who will produce and file content for local, regional and international stations in addition to contributing southern views to the North.


The course will incorporate training on:


  • radio writing
  • reporting
  • production skills
  • digital editing, and audio file compression and transfer techniques.



Radio professionals from the PSA's global network will conduct the workshop with practical hands-on sessions.

Registration Information

Broadcasters, producers, editors and reporters, especially from radio media from South Asian countries wishing to attend this training workshop may apply by June 30 2006 by e-mail at kishor@panossouthasia.org


The application should contain a brief resume and a less than 300 word essay stating the participants experience on radio and how by participating in this workshop it will enable them or their organisation to enhance their work.


PSA will cover all related costs of participation, including travel for selected participants from the region.

PSA will respond ONLY to selected applicants by July 11 2006.
