Event summary

Submissions are invited for the Northampton International Community Film Festival 2006. The Festival showcases the best community film-making from around the world. The organisers are looking for short documentary or promotional films that deal with one or more of the festival’s themes for 2006:


  • Community empowerment projects
  • Social or political documentary
  • Citizenship and local democracy
  • Neighbourhood renewal
  • Combating prejudice or discrimination
  • Voluntary groups or charities - making a difference
  • Building social capital
  • Equality and diversity work
  • Improving community cohesion
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Society and culture/digital arts


Alongside the film showings there will be a programme of talks, seminars and presentations on community film making from around the world.

Registration Information

Films may be submitted on DVD and must arrive before April 24th 2006. The organisers regret that films submitted cannot be returned.



Free festival tickets and bursary opportunities will be awarded to the top ten community film-makers
