Event summary

Organised by The Institute for Public Health and Water Research (IPWR), this conference will explore the range of water contamination events and responses occurring in large, medium, and community-based systems. The conference is designed for scientists, regulatory and public health officials, utility managers, and others with drinking water and communication responsibilities. Pre- and post-event communication strategies for reaching consumers will also be discussed, including best practices for communicating with diverse communities and special groups. A particular focus is the need to restore consumer trust post-event, particularly when events are persistent and appear to be chronic.
