SBCC Curricula – C-Change ORC

SBCC Curricula provides summaries of curricula for social and behavior change communication (SBCC) developed by C-Change Training Centers of Excellence. Below you will find descriptions of face to face training modules, online courses, and graduate degrees and certificates related to SBCC. Face to Face Courses

C-Modules: A Learning Package for Social and Behavior Change Communication is C-Change's learning package for facilitated, face-to-face workshops on SBCC. The package includes a series of six modules for communication practitioners working in development and accompanying facilitator guides for each module. It has just been finalized after field testing in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

The C-Modules contain:

  • A Practitioner's Handbook with the content of Modules 0-5
  • An accompanying Facilitator's Guide to provide guidance, tips and examples for facilitating the module
  • Additional Resources

The Introduction, Module 0, outlines the overall SBCC framework, including the five-step C-Planning Process for SBCC (see graphic). Each of the next five modules focuses on one distinct step of the SBCC planning process:

  • Understanding the Situation
  • Focusing and Designing
  • Creating
  • Implementing and Monitoring
  • Evaluating and Replanning

Online Training

In partnership with Ohio University and Internews, C-Change has developed online facilitated and self-paced training modules in SBCC, media monitoring, and advocacy that support the development and strengthening of competencies in the planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of SBCC activities.

Master’s, Diploma, and Certificate Program

In collaboration with the Soul City Institute of Health and Development Communication, C-Change supports a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Witwatersrand, which offers a track in SBCC, the first of its kind in Southern Africa, as well as diploma and certificate training.
