The Sheila McKechnie Awards, created to help those fighting for social, economic, and environmental change to develop their campaigning skills, invites applications from people campaigning to make a positive change in society. The Sheila McKechnie Foundation Award Winners receive a bespoke training and development support package delivered over six months to help award winners build their skills and knowledge to become more effective campaigners. This includes: one to one coaching from an expert campaigner, advice on how to secure media coverage, development of a campaign strategy, ideas to boost the campaign profile, and tips on how to influence politicians. There are a total of 9 awards, 1 of which is for international campaigners (in 80 eligible countries), the remainder for campaigners across the United Kingdom (UK).
