I graduated with a 2:1 degree in Media and Communications in 2009 from Birmingham City University and I specialised in modules in radio and journalism. Since graduating I spent time working in the newsrooms of major radio stations in the UK such as BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and Heart FM. I've also spent time volunteering abroad with charities such as Raleigh in Borneo, and I worked within the communications team for WWF at their International office in Switzerland.
I recently returned from spending six months volunteering in Swaziland in southern Africa, where I was responsible for producing a series of radio talk shows on sexual and reproductive health and rights for a local NGO. The experience was one that I learnt a lot from and I have become interested in exploring radio for development and working within this particular field.
