I have over 8 years professional experience of programming in both development and emergency contexts, including programme design, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting.
I hold a university first degree from the Eastern University of Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Human Rights of Institute of Human Rights Colombo and the Rights Based Evaluation in Public health and Primary health care of Flinders University of South Australia.
Over the past four months, I work with UNICEF as Social Policy Officer based in Kampong Champ zone office in Cambodia. With UNICEF I have been involving in generating evidence from the field to inform authorities to have the opportunity to access the recourse, for women and children in need of essential basic services and fulfil the rights of most marginalized children & women in the communities. In addition to above was conducting a participatory research in Mondulkiri province to support parenting education programme for ethnic minority.
Prior to my current assignment, I worked with UNICEF in Sri Lanka as a Child Protection Officer. With UNICEF I have been instrumental in designing, implementing and monitoring child protection programmes in post conflict region. Also I worked with Save the children in different capacities, rising through the ranks from social worker, to project officer, Partnership management officer and Programme manager as my last appointment.
